Premits are FINALLY Here!
David was able to pick up the permits from the county on Monday afternoon. Yesterday, David and Wayne started digging the basement and the footers. It was so exciting to see major progress going on at the property!
The basement will only be under part of the house. That part is completely dug out. The footers will go around the house. Zach and his friends had a GREAT time playing on the giant pile of dirt (clay) that they dug.
I made sure to take a picture of the permits attatched to a tree in the driveway and one of the beautiful leaves changing here in Virginia....note that there is no snow! (unlike Central New York!)
Hope you all enjoy!

Things Are Starting to Happen!
David and the twins have spent the morning laying out the house with posts and orange string. The digging will be happening this week--as soon as the permits come back. At least they will be ready to dig.
Half of the silt fence was put in and the other half will go up after David takes down two trees in the back that will be too close to the back of the house. He has been taking trees down only when necessary since Grandma loves them so much...but would not really like them falling onto the house.
Here is what you are looking at:
1. This is the far end of the house. I am standing by the front porch looking towards the section of the house that will have basement underneath. The silt fence is in the background.
2. David and Ryan are setting posts while Davey helps with the measuring. This is behind the garage (near the path that leads to our house).
3. The post in the front of the picture is at the far end of the house and Davey is kneeling down at the opposite end of the house behind the garage.
4. It's hard to see the strings but this is a larger view of the layout.
5. I took this picture about 15 feet from the top of the driveway so that you can see the curve to the road. The new large stones make it easy to see. This will be a very welcoming driveway into the woods!
